On Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM there will be a Shoreline Sweep of the bay. In the event that we have a rainstorm that day, then the ShoreLine Sweep will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the same time and place.

Having the sweep on the 20th matches up with when people around the world will be participating in the international Coastal Cleanup Day sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy.

We will gather on the beach end of the Moran Road Right-Of-Way. Please bring gloves and a bucket to put whatever you take from the beach. In case you forget to bring them, extra buckets and gloves will be available! Also bring your own refillable water container in case you get thirsty.

We will spend about one hour conducting the sweep. Then everyone will regroup at the Right-Of-Way to put our collections into the appropriate category containers. After the sweep, data about the collected items will be reported to the Ocean Conservancy for addition to its database which is used to report its findings to governments to help them understand the growing problem of plastic pollution.
